Bartram Trail notches it's 1st Emergency Rescue ! 
Wild Wood 3828 Dogwood Ln Appling Ga...School has just started in Columbia County but Bartram Trail ( New section ) has already graduated to Emergency Status ! 

            

Officials recently responded to a "Lost Mt Biker" at the newly constructed, 9 1/2 + miles of Arizona-Hwy type of Mt Bike Trail ! ; longer than it seems with no 7-11 , McD's, or circleK to stop at for water and snacks . If you don't pack it with you , you ain't gonna get it ! This new section is nothing like it's predecessor , it takes a long time to get to the end and a whole lot longer to get back !  The Columbia County Sheriffs Dept responded with ATV's in search of the "Lost Mt. Biker" . This was obviously his first time riding this trail and miscalculated his arrival back . Before riding a new trail study trail maps extensively , pack plenty of water along with a fully charged cellphone, ride with a buddy and stay together !

              Piece of New Beginner Trail Linking 
       Bartram to F.A.T.S. Now Ridable !
Below the dam is where this new trail exits the pavement and runs
atop an old rail bed used in the construction of Clark Hill Dam . 
You can ride this small piece in a somewhat circle or follow the 
rail bed and take the first left which comes out at the Lookout
Tower over looking Clarks Hill Dam . or Take the next left and 
and come out at Rusty's Roadside Cafe-Motel or take the third
old road and exit out on Hwy 28 down from Lost Wilderness where 
F.A.T.S. runs at it's highest point on Tower Trail ! 
                       Heed all posted signs !
