What time Sat? I will probably not be able to make it. Going South for a while then maybe some time with the family swimming and playing volleyball.

It is getting light at 6 am now. Think you can get out of bed that early?

Finished and open

This trail is open and very fun ! Very long ride out and back pushing 20 miles depending on where you park and plus or minus extentions and what-not . Thats like riding 3 or 4 of FATS trails . Try riding bits and pieces of this trail until you get comfortable with long rides ! Take lunch , super and lots of water !

Alternative

The towpath is getting very busy ! Lots of dogs too ! And that means dog dropings in the tires and derailuer . Bartram from Lake Springs to Petersburg is a trail that is not much harder than the tow path minus the crowds and dropings !

We tried to move this by hand but could not . Maybe Saturday me and JimmyP can cut it out !

There are two trees down ! Looks like they have become riders . JimmyG let me know when we can go down there before work and knotch them a little with the Powlan !

Old Airstrip

The airstrip is starting to whip the shins . Let me know when someone can help cut this stuff ?

Newest section of Bartram Trail !

new section is now open and rides fast with many cool features.

Also some note,

1. new trail please stay off of it if it is wet

2. about 7 miles out from Petersburg there is a gazebo and dock, this is private property

3. about a mile in Wildwood the trail follows a dirt road. this section also is shared by horses. horses have the right of way. Call up to the equestrian and ask how they want to be passed and follow their instructions.

Real nice !

In great shape ! The old closed section on the edge of the River is now back open and is the better part of the trail ! Expert only though !

Newest section of Bartram Trail !

Not yet finished but any day ! Probably 10 days till opening ! Looks FUN ! Keep checking for opening date !

Dry but still caution !

Been very busy lately with the nice weather upon us ! No wet spots but caution for canine poopers !

ALL non-riders cut and gone ! Turn on the afterburners and fly !

Rode this week and dry as a bone ! One no rider down about 3/4 mile from North Parking lot south side of 661 .

We rode Mistletoe Sunday . Great shape ! A few trees down but gave us the opportunity to practice going over extra large trees . The leaves made it hard to see the trail in some places but all in all great ride !

Thanksgiving Day ---------WET !

Access to Tow Path and Trails

Canal towpath closure for repairs :

WHERE: Upstream from pumping station to just downstream of I-20 overpass.

WHEN: Mondays through Fridays beginning Nov. 22 through mid-February.

EXCEPTIONS: The gates will remain open on weekends and holidays.

WHY: Workers are strengthening about a mile of the canal’s embankment.

Rode this trail Sunday early afternoon . Lot of debris . Looks like a lot of water steam rolled through . Not as bad as Wine but needs work .

Tried to ride this Sunday Morning . MUD HOLE ! looked like the leaves had mud on them . Evidence the trail had been completely submerged the day before . Tons of debris .
